A musical story, commissioned by The Dorset Chamber Orchestra, for their Music for Youth 2006 concert, composed by Paul Coles, to both musically entertain and help introduce younger audiences to the instruments of the orchestra.

Based upon the original story ‘The Bremen Town Band’, by Jacob and Wilheim Grimm, Richard Baker is the author of ‘The Amazing Animal Band’. The première performance by the Dorset Chamber Orchestra and narrated by the popular television actor Martin Clunes was enthusiastically received by young and old alike.

The score is a fun packed work and the humorous story brings to life the many characters that any young audience will enjoy.

Christmas Suite

This four movement orchestral suite, written with a festive flavour, would be an ideal inclusion for any Christmas Concert.

The second movement, Snowman’s Waltz was premièred by the BBC Concert Orchestra and performed live on BBC Radio 2 Friday Night is Music Night in December 2002.

Huzza

Originally composed as a competitive submission for a new celebratory piece which had to be suitable for most amateur/semi professional orchestras, this winning entry which is approximately five and a half minutes in duration encourages all sections of the orchestra to demonstrate their individual qualities. Ideal as a light addition to any festive programme.
