An article featuring MÚzicas Editions and composer Paul Coles was published in the December issue of the Classical Guitar Magazine which is published by the Ashley Mark Publishing Company in the U.K.

Features Editor, Oliver McGhie wrote an enthusiastic piece about Paul Coles and his compositions for the Classical Guitar. The music of this composer is being noticed by several major exponents of the instrument.

Craig Ogden, the celebrated Australian born guitarist has released a recording on the Nimbus label of Paul’s solo works and performs several of them within his extensive repertoire. Classic FM Radio regularly broadcast some of these pieces.

Having recently returned from their successful tour of North America the celebrated cello & guitar duo Kevin Jones and Agustin Maruri premiered a work by Paul Coles entitled ‘Evocaciones de Espana’. So successful has this initial alliance between composer and performers been the duo have recently commission a concerto from Paul Coles.

“Paul knows the guitar very well so he is comfortable writing for six strings, and I have really nothing to say about the combination of the guitar and the cello - you just need to listen to both instruments together. Paul writes in a very direct way, his ideas are strong and clear and they have a powerful, evocative atmosphere.
We will première his "Evocaciones de España" on 9th March 2006 in Salamanca, then we will have it in our duo programme for the rest of our season, that means it will played in other Spanish cities like Palencia and Madrid. Later on we will première it in Gibraltar, Oman, New York, Vancouver, Toronto, etc and by December 2006 we will record our 6th album and that will be the title of the CD "Evocaciones de España" along with classical transcriptions of Spanish music by de Falla, Albeniz and Granados”.

In addition to recording ‘Evocaciones de Espana’ on the Madrid based EMEC DISCOS label Agustin Maruri has commissioned several new solo pieces from Paul for a new solo guitar recording on the Emec Discos label.
