Habanera
The Habanera finds its origins as a slow Cuban song and dance, which became very popular in Spain. It is in simple duple time and has a dotted rhythm.
This guitar solo is full of the richness and depth which is typical of such a piece. The strength of the melody helps conjure up the elegant, exaggerated movements of the Latin dancers.
Habanera is recorded by Craig Ogden on Nimbus Records NI5811.
